Short bio

Cristina Ortiz is an Associate Professor in the Accounting and Finance Department and an associate researcher at the Institute on Employment, Digital Society and Sustainability (IEDIS) at the University of Zaragoza. She is also member of the Behavioural Finance Working Group (BFWG) at the UK. 
Her doctoral thesis “Behavioural Finance: Application to Investors and Managers of Spanish Mutual Funds” counts with the European doctoral Mention and was published in an international editorial. She has been teaching at the Degree and Master’s level since 2006. Besides the supervision of numerous Degree and Master dissertations, she has co-supervised a Doctoral Thesis about some well-known behavioural biases of mutual funds managers. She has participated as visiting researcher and teaching in international mobilities with the Erasmus program at Caledonian Business School (UK), Porto University (Portugal), University of Groningen (the Netherlands) or Universidade do Minho (Portugal).
Her main research area of interest includes asset management and behavioural finance, especially in mutual funds and pension funds; and sustainable finance. Her publications include Journal of Banking and Finance, Finance Research Letters, Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Finance, Research in International Business and Finance, and others included in the Social Science Citation Index. She has participated in several international conferences, receiving the distinction of the Best Paper Award at the 10th PFN Conference held in Lisbon (sponsored by Eurosystem-Banco de Portugal). In addition, she is part of the research teams in several national projects, and she has participated in 2 transfer projects with national outstanding institutions, such as INVERCO and ADICAE.
In management activities, she was part of the Research Commission of the University of Zaragoza, secretary professor of the Accounting and Finance Department of the University of Zaragoza for almost two years; and the Vice Head of the same department right afterwards during the three following years.
