Short bio

Yolanda Fuertes has been an associate professor in financial economics and accounting at the University of Zaragoza since 2008, and an associate researcher at the Institute on Employment, Digital Society and Sustainability (IEDIS) at the University of Zaragoza. She has been a visiting researcher at the University of Sheffield (UK) and Stern University in New York (USA).
During her scientific career, she has been part of two research groups (S38_17R and S/86), both recognized as consolidated groups by the Government of Aragon.
She has participated in research projects and contracts funded by the European Union, the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science, as well as local entities such as the Government of Aragon, the Economic and Social Council of Aragon (CESA), the Technological Institute of Aragon (ITA), and the University of Zaragoza, among others. These projects have focused on three main research areas: non-financial information and firm valuation, analysis of financial information using multivariate techniques, and microfinance and social economy.
Her research has contributed to the identification and measurement of intellectual capital in sectors such as banking and e-commerce, the evaluation of the relevance of financial and non-financial information in the analysis of start-ups and high-tech intensive companies, and the assessment of microfinance institutions’ efficiency and mission alignment.
The findings from these studies have been published in JCR journals such as Nonprofit & Voluntary Sector Quarterly, Journal of the Operational Research Society, Electronic Commerce Research and Applications, Journal of Small Business Management, Decision Support Systems, Journal of Management & Organization, Social Indicators Research, and European Accounting Review. Additionally, the studies have been presented at 30 international and national congresses.
