Short bio
Guillermo Badía is Assistant Professor in the Department of Accounting and Finance at the University of Zaragoza. He has been a visiting researcher at the Hanken School of Economics (Finland) and the Universidade do Minho (Portugal), where he collaborated on research projects related to his areas of expertise.
He was the Principal Researcher of the Finance Research Group at the University of Deusto from 2020 to 2024 and is a panel member of the European Sustainable Investment Forum (EUROSIF) since 2020.
He holds a PhD in Financial Economics and Accounting from the University of Zaragoza and his main research interests are asset pricing and portfolio management, with a focus on sustainable and behavioural finance.
His research has been published in several journals including Accounting & Finance, Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, International Journal of Finance and Economics and Economics Letters.
He has been recognized for his research, receiving the award for the best scientific contribution at the XIX AECA International Congress (2017) and the JGB Foundation Research Award (2022) for his work on the financial implications of sustainable behavior. He has also received several research grants, including one from the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER).
Guillermo has participated in various national and European research projects and has acted as Principal Researcher in several of them, leading initiatives related to sustainable finance and behavioral investment strategies. Additionally, he has contributed to applied research and knowledge transfer initiatives.
He has also played an active role in the organization of academic events. In 2018, he co-founded and was the first president of the Brown Bag Seminars at the University of Zaragoza. He was also the founding president of the International Workshop on ESG Values (University of Deusto, 2022), an event that has since become an important discussion forum held every two years in different universities. Guillermo is committed to advancing the field of finance through research and collaboration with industry.
