Short Bio

Ana María Melo is a PhD candidate at the University of Zaragoza. She is an Industrial Engineer with more than twelve years of professional experience in the financial sector, primarily within public-sector organizations. She holds postgraduate training in Strategic Marketing and Business Management, and a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Zaragoza.

Her research interests lie in behavioural finance, particularly the study of cognitive biases in financial and investment decision-making and their implications for market efficiency. She is also interested in sustainable finance, especially the interaction between ESG criteria, the behaviour of managers and investors, and the efficient allocation of resources.

Professionally, her career has focused on institutions that promote access to educational and agricultural credit, as well as asset management initiatives aligned with social policies. Throughout her career, she has led strategic projects with a strong emphasis on social impact and the sustainable management of financial and economic resources.
