Short Bio
Miguel Serrano is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Accounting and Finance at the University of Zaragoza. He received his doctorate from the University of Zaragoza in 2017 after defending the thesis “Three essays about mutual fund and manager behaviour”.
His research focuses on mutual funds and manager behaviour. He has analyzed the financial implications of manager replacement in Spanish equity mutual funds, examined the implications of risk shifting to mutual fund investors through monthly portfolio holdings, developed a manager efficiency index accounting for manager specialization, and analyzed the impact of management company structure on divergence among mutual funds. His work has been published in Finance Research Letters, European Journal of Operational Research, International Review of Economics and Finance, and Applied Economics.
He has participated in several projects funded by the Spanish Government and the Ibercaja Foundation, and served on the scientific committee for the X Workshop for Young Researchers in Business and Economics (2023).
